The BEST Electric Kettle
Looking For A New Electric Kettle?
The electric kettle in our house is hugely important and definitely something that we do not want to be without. We use our kettle every day, all day and we are very demanding when we choose one. We want it to be a very good one, one that does its job of boiling water quickly and one that shuts itself off. As a matter of fact, when our current kettle quits, we are going to be picking the best electric kettle that appears right here on this page.
Well, this page actually includes the top 5 electric kettles since we know that they might not all be available at your local department store. Since we all have slightly different requirements and/or preferences, a list (rather than just a single kettle) also provides some choice.
If you have a hard time finding any of these items in your local department store, note that all of these kettles are available online from Amazon. We find Amazon's pricing to be very competitive and often lower than at the store and we love the fact that when your order is worth $25 or more they deliver your items right to your front door for free.
Grab your cup of coffee and join us as we check out the five best electric kettles.

What We Like About Our Kettle
A short list of what we like about our kettle and what we would demand in a new one, if we were buying a new one today. Unfortunately, our kettle is a few years old so we are unable to feature it here on this page but if you are looking for a new kettle, we recommend at least thinking about these features.
- Our kettle lifts from its stand or base so that we can fill it without fussing with the cord.
- Our kettle has a flip top lid so that it is easy to fill with water.
- Our kettle features a water level indicator, which means we know EXACTLY how much water to put in for ONE (or two or three) cup(s) of tea.
- Our kettle returns to its stand from any direction.
- Our kettle boils water quickly.
- Finally and perhaps most importantly, OUR KETTLE SHUTS ITSELF OFF WHEN THE JOB IS DONE. That may or may not be important to you but it is extremely important to us as one of us frequently puts the kettle on to boil as she has done just now, travels down the hall to her office to wait for the water to boil and returns later enough that if the kettle did not turn itself off, there would be consequences to pay.

Is Automatic Shut-Off An Important Feature In Your Electric Kettle?
Do you require your kettle to automatically shut off?
They say a watched pot never boils but these electric kettles boil quickly...so they definitely will boil, whether you are watching or not.
Aroma Hot H20 X-Press 1.5 Liter Cordless Water Kettle - An attractive, stainless steel kettle.
Interesting name, the Aroma. This kettle boils up to 1.5 liters of water in minutes and is one of the most handsome kettles on this list, in our opinion. Cordless, it is easily filled at the sink. It shuts off automatically when the water is boiled so that you don't need to worry about remembering to turn it off. It also includes a water-level indicator, a stay cool handle, a non-drip spout, a lid that flips back out of the way for filling and a removable filter in the spout.
The Aroma features a ONE-YEAR warranty.
Adagio Teas UtiliTEA Variable-Temperature 30-Ounce Electric Kettle - Another stainless steel electric kettle.
Adagio is unusual and a good choice for TEA DRINKERS as well as coffee drinkers because it features a temperature-control system that will heat the water to the temperature you require for your tea, which suits tea well. It can also, of course, simply boil water like an ordinary kettle. It features a cordless carafe, water-level indicator, power light and a flip-top for ease of filling.
The presence of an automatic shut-off feature is not mentioned in the Amazon write up. However, several of the Amazon customer reviewers say that it does shut off automatically.
Warranty information not available.
Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Stainless-Steel Cordless Electric Kettle - A third stainless steel kettle. Seems like the best kettles are stainless steel
Meet Cusinart's PerfecTemp 1.7 litre stainless steel cordless electric kettle. It boils water in minutes at one of six heat choices. (Yes, it is perfect for tea drinkers and it even has a temperature setting for French Press coffee drinkers.) It also features a 30-minute keep warm feature, a 2-minute memory, swivel base for cordless use, a water window, a scale filter and an automatic safety shut off.
Cuisinart's kettle features a THREE-YEAR warranty.
Hamilton Beach 7-1/5-Cup Stainless Steel Electric Kettle, Red - Life can be colorful, especially with this candy apple red electric kettle.
Exciting with a pop of vibrant red, especially after three stainless steel kettles, Hamilton Beach's stainless steel electric kettle is a good choice, too. Like the others it features cord-free use, automatic shut-off and a drip-free spout.
Warranty information not available.
Hamilton Beach 40898 Cool-Touch Cordless 8 Cup Electric Kettle
The fifth and final kettle on this list is yet another stainless steel version, this one by Hamilton Beach and an 8-cup electric kettle. It also features cordless use, automatic shut-uff, a drip-free pouring spout and a mineral-deposit filter.
Hamilton Beach's kettle features a ONE-YEAR warranty.
